Are you heading to Mallorca this month for a break in your timeshare apartment? Perhaps you’re fitting in a timely restful break before the onslaught of the festive season, or to pick up unusual gifts and stocking fillers not found in the shops back at home. Whatever your reason for travel, there ‘s plenty to see and do this month. Let’s take a look at some of the November events in Mallorca. From fairs to film, and food, of course, November is shaping up to be quite a month. The International Film Festival of Mallorca has, unfortunately,  just closed, but there are still plenty of opportunities for things to see and do this month, so go ahead and book that flight!

Where to stay

Rent or consider an investment with one of the resale timeshare apartments at Marriott’s Club Son Antem. Located within the stunning Mallorcan countryside, Marriott Vacation Club standards are evident throughout the resort. It was awarded the TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for 2015, making it an all-round winning resort.

Palma Cathedral and the winter solstice effect

Armistice Day, the 11th November, might be a good time to visit Palma Cathedral. Not just for offering up a silent prayer for past heroes, but for the once a year magic created by the light of the winter solstice. Look above the altar to the rosette, and you’ll see the streaming sunrise turn the facing wall into a double rosette for a short time. The best time to see the magic is early,  so get there before breakfast around 8am and then enjoy a languid café breakfast later.

Port Adriano tasting menus

Friday, Saturdays and Sundays are the best days of the month to grab a bite to eat at well-heeled Port Adriano. Portside restaurants are offering special tasting menus – the best kind – in the surroundings of the luxury marina, always a nice place to sit. It’s all part of the Food Passion Festival, and for between the far from the princely sum of 16€ to 25€, you can eat like a king.

Fungi and flavour

It’s that time of year when mushrooms seem to be on every menu, and with good reason. The pine forests of Mallorca are home to some fantastic fungi, and Mancor de la Vall hosts a special mushroom fair on the 26th of November. The most celebrated mushroom is the not so humble wild Esclata-Sang, and the destination is a picturesque one in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains.

Christmas lights

Sssh, is it too early to mention Christmas? No? Oh good. Christmas comes with a twinkle and festive cheer to Mallorca on the 23rd of the month when Palma switches on its Christmas lights. Make it an early Christmas gift to yourself, with something you really want, a timeshare apartment resale in that wonderful accommodation we mentioned!
