If you are planning your next family holiday and you will be travelling with children, you might already be aware that for many kids, a trip to a water park is the highlight of their whole holiday. If you plan on taking a trip to Europe, then there are plenty of options for wet and wonderful fun! Here are the best waterparks in Europe for a splashing good time!
Hidropark, Mallorca
The biggest waterpark on the island of Mallorca, Puerto de Alcudia’s Hidropark has something for everyone. Feeling sporty? Try your hand at snuba diving (a type of underwater snorkelling) or minigolf. Want to unwind? Sunbathe by the pool or relax in the green areas. Feeling brave? Try the one of two 15-metre ‘Kamikaze’ slides. The waterpark caters for youngsters too, with the Children’s World pool and Mini Park slide area. The waterpark is easily accessible from Marriott’s Son Antem, so you can retreat to a luxurious haven for some peace and tranquility after a day of action!
Aqualand, Costa del Sol
The largest water park at the Costa del Sol is just 20 minutes drive from Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort This waterpark is the perfect place to spend a day of fun and entertainment with the best water rides imaginable for the whole family. You can enjoy over 14 attractions including 19 water slides for adults, 15 children’s slides and a Mini golf 18 holes. Be sure to take a ride on the “Black Hole” which is over 100 meters long, with huge drops, curves and varied elevation.
Caribe Aquatic Park, Costa Dorada
If the azure blue coastline of Spain’s north east Costa Dorada isn’t already enough for you, then head over to Caribe Aquatic Park for a taste of the Caribbean. This waterpark has a distinct Caribbean theme (whether it be the rides, or some of the food on offer). If you’re feeling brave, go on the typhoon ride “El Tifon” or corkscrew down “The Mambo Limbo.”
Tropical Islands, Germany
This huge ( it’s the third largest building in the world!) indoor waterpark can house up to 8,000 people and can be found in a disused airplane hangar. In the heart of Bavaria, yet just 60km from Berlin, the unusual Tropical Islands has much more than just slides (look out for the Turbo Slide which will have you speeding along at speeds close to 70 kilometres per hour!), but also tropical pools, beaches and a rain forest.
Aquariaz, France
Not only is Aquariaz one of Europe’s newest waterparks, it’s also its highest. It is by no means the biggest, but it did come with a whopping €200m price tag, and for that you get all kinds of rides. Owned by Pierre & Vacances and part of the Avoriaz Resort, there’s accommodation on site. It’s open year round so you can enjoy the ultimate in apres ski during the winter or it works equally well as a summer destination for families looking for something different to the usual beach holiday.
