Marriott Vacations Worldwide recently claimed fourth place after a huge number of votes, in the Orlando Sentinel’s “Top 100 Companies” for 2016, which makes it the most recognized company in the timeshare ownership industry. The survey and award program was initially created in order to identify and honor workplaces in Orlando as a tribute to the businesses considered to benefit the city’s economy, its employees, and economy.

The Orlando Sentinel opened its votes to profit, non-profit businesses, publicly and privately held, and government entities to see who would make the top 100. The qualifying criteria includes:
- Having a facility in Central Florida
- Employing a minimum of 15 people
- The organization must have been in business for a minimum period of one year.
The survey evaluation can be broken down into two separate parts:
- The first part of the evaluation consists of examining each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics.
- The second part accounts for and measures actual employee experience.
After looking at the above two parts of the evaluation, the final scores were then combined and submitted to the Best Companies Group for final ranking. The Orlando Sentinel published the list on the 21st of August, 2016.
